Maine

Following Brian's graduation, my folks and I spent a few days in Maine. We stayed at the Harpswell Inn, a charming New England bed and breakfast where I had also stayed three years ago on my last visit to Maine. I have a good friend, Dick M., aka "Mers," who lives in Brunswick, and works at Bowdoin College. Mers spent a day with us and we did a fun hike to Morse Mountain. The hike takes you through Maine forest, a salt marsh, to the top of Morse Mountain with a breathtaking view, ending up on the beach at the ocean. Mers, his wife Bette, and his kids Kyle and Ellie welcomed us to their lovely home for fresh scallops and mussels. Then Mers took us to a piano recital at Studzinski Recital Hall, Kanbar Auditorium on the Bowdoin campus. The acoustics were most impressive, particularly in comparison to Uihlein Hall, home of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
