Armand Hammer Museum
Lesley and I visited the Armand Hammer Museum. I was quite pleased to see this Vincent Van Gogh painting, "Hospital at Saint-Remy," as well as works by Paul Gauguin and other Post-Impressionist painters. The paintings were both colorful and sublime. The artist who created the Ms. Pac Man-type work in the second photo is the same age as Lesley and me, so that was a bit of a downer. But our mood improved in the gift shop where Lesley found this new yellow friend and I discoverd a doll of Elizabeth I.
I enjoy fun conversations with friends, going out to dinner, hiking in national parks, and alternative music from the 80s and early 90s. I'm an avid runner; I've finished seven marathons since 2005 (PR 3 hours, 19 minutes in 2010) and will likely run my eighth in 2011. My friends describe me as earnest, empathetic, industrious, hard working, unpretentious, and intelligent. I love to smile and laugh, and I don't take myself too seriously. I'm extremely loyal to my friends, sometimes to the point of being too hard on them. I've been told that I'm a good listener. My friends and family are very important to me. Honesty and humor are very important. People who can’t crack a smile or muster a giggle turn me off. I enjoy 'being' more than 'doing'. I don't need to go out to have a good time; I just need to have good company. I prefer dinner and a show (be it live, film, or rented) to a club. I like honest and witty conversations.
